Maria T. Dean
Maria Dean has provided business consulting and advisory services for 25 years to a wide range of clients including investment advisory firms, construction contractors, medical and dental practices, real estate management firms, banks and financial institutions, mortgage servicing companies, restaurant management companies, retail operations, and energy providers. Her experience includes developing financial projections and forecasts, preparing business valuations on both buy and sell side, providing federal and state tax consultation and compliance services, representing clients before the IRS and State and Local taxing authorities, and filing compliance with the SEC, NASD, and various state licensing bureaus in the securities and insurance industries.
In addition to representing and advising clients, for fifteen years Maria managed all aspects of three family owned businesses engaged in the construction, accounting, and investment advisory industries. Aside from her personal involvement with client relationships, her management responsibilities included billing, collections, financing, managing payroll and human resources, preparing financial statements and tax returns, and overseeing regulatory filings.
Maria has extensive experience in the tax area representing numerous clients including Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs. Maria has also advised individual corporate owners and partners on income taxes, gift and estate tax planning, and federal estate and generation skipping tax issues. She has also provided specialty services including the reconstruction of tax basis bad debt reserves for client acquired banks and S&Ls, writing Private Letter Ruling Requests, representing clients before the IRS, and completing many case specific tax consultation projects.
Prior to managing her own practice and family owned businesses, Maria spent eight years with Arthur Andersen & Co and Deloitte & Touche. During this period, she managed tax engagements for businesses and individuals, represented clients before the IRS, and assisted in various bank mergers & acquisitions. She is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accountancy from the Kent State University.
